Laura Defretin and Brandon Masele, dancers and choreographers with the MazelFreten company, present a three-part evening featuring solos and duets. Their dance, drawing on electro and hip-hop influences, reveals a connection that is both deeply intertwined and intimate. In 1 + 1 = 2, Brandon Masele explores the legacy he will leave his children from his Franco-Congolese heritage. In 1 + 1 = 1, Laura Defretin examines her identity following the birth of their child. Finally, in Perception, the two extend this connection in a powerful duet. United by a shared sense of authenticity, the couple celebrates urban cultures.
