For the first time, the Scène de recherche is presenting a large-scale production for thirteen performers. Reimagining Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People, Fake News tackles a burning question: Who can we trust? In a city where the water might be contaminated, scientific expertise clashes with political and economic interests. A doctor, a mayor, a prefect, journalists, and citizens: each defends their own version of events, and the debate spirals out of control. Between public meetings and TV studios, narratives clash and become distorted. In the age of social media, it’s hard to separate fact from fiction. What if the truth depended on who speaks the loudest?
